You are required to register with us, before placing your first order online. Please click on Register to complete the registration form. Registration and/or use of our online shopping website constitute your acceptance and agreement to be bound by the Terms and Conditions of our website, including the additional online shopping terms below.

1. Online Registration

To register you will be required to provide certain personal information. When registering with us, you will be required to provide an email address and password. Please keep your password private. Chateau Gateaux accepts no liability for any damages suffered or losses incurred from the use or misuse of your password. You will be required to enter your email address and password each time you log in on our online shopping site.

2. Product Sales and Availability

All products displayed on our website are subject to availability. All prices shown on our website are quoted in South African Rands and are valid and effective only in the Republic of South Africa. We reserve the right to discontinue or change the specifications of our products and services from time to time without notice. We will inform you as soon as possible if any products or services ordered by you are not available.

3. Colours

We have made every effort to display, as accurately as possible, the colours of the products that appear on our website. However, as the colours you see will depend on the device that you use to access our website, we cannot warrant that your device’s display of any colour will be accurate.

Please note that all images are serving suggestions.

4. Gift cards

Gift cards cannot be used for online purchasing. Gift cards and discount vouchers can only be redeemed with purchases made in the Patisseries.

5. Pricing Policy

You will be charged the prices that are reflected online, subject to availability. The prices include Value-Added Tax.

6. Methods of Payment

Failure of payment to pass authorisation will result in termination of the order.

7. Stock Availability

We cannot always guarantee availability of stock. You will be contacted shortly after placing your order to confirm the items ordered and to be informed of items that are unavailable.

8. Confirmation of Orders

Orders placed online constitute your offer to purchase subject to these Terms. Your offer is deemed to have been accepted by us when you receive our confirmation of your order. Failure by us to formally confirm or notify acceptance shall not affect the validity of the sale or the enforceability thereof. Orders will only be confirmed once the Proof of Payment is received.

9. Returns & Refunds

Terms and Conditions:

1. Please ensure that the items listed on the till slip are those you are leaving with as the non-returns policy will apply once items leave the premises.

2. Returned defective products are only accepted in original packaging together with the till slip associated with the purchase.

3. Defective product returns will not be accepted if more than 50% of the product has been consumed.

4. We will not accept liability for any associated transport costs incurred in returning a defective or incorrect order, regardless of the reason.

5. Refunds and replacements for legitimate quality defects will be immediate on return to the store. Should the store manager find no evidence of a defect, a refund or replacement will only be considered once assessed by a senior manager in the business.

6. Please follow the instructions on our packaging as we will not be held responsible for quality issues arising from incorrect customer handling, storage and defrosting processes.

7. It is your responsibility to check the product label for any allergens or offensive ingredients prior to leaving the premises as no exchanges or returns will be considered in this regard.

We regret that due to the perishable nature of our products and strict Food Safety standards, we are unable to accept returns/exchanges once a product has left our premises. This is in place for the protection of your health. Defective products are excluded.

10. Cancellation

Cancellations are accepted up to 24 hours before the specified date of collection. Please contact the Head Office at customercare@chateaugateaux.co.za or call (031)5696964. You will be refunded the full amount of your order. No refunds for cancellations less than 24 hours before the date of collection.

11. Risk and Ownership

Risk in the products shall pass to you or your authorized representative as soon as the purchased products leave our premises.
